FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

How does the book/media pickup service work?

You fill out the Pickup Request Form and we will contact you to set up a day and time that works for you to pick up the books/media. All pickup requests must be scheduled, and are subject to our confirmed availability.

How much does this cost?

This service is 100% free to you. Your books deserve a second life. We recycle them through donations to community organizations and local and online book sales.

How far in advance do I need to schedule my pickup?

The timeline varies depending on our schedule. Once you fill out the request form we will contact you as soon as possible to set a date.

What types of items do you accept?

We accept – Books (children’s and adult books of all genres, fiction and non-fiction), Textbooks, Magazines, DVDs, CDs, Blu-Ray, Audio Books, Comics, Graphic Novels, and Video Games.

We DO NOT accept – Encyclopedias, Reference Books, Dictionaries,  National Geographic, Anything that has been wet or contains mold (freckles on the edges of the pages), Excessively dusty, or books with missing or torn pages/covers, Puzzles, VHS Tapes, Cassettes, or Vinyl Records.

What do I need to do before the pickup?

Please box or bag the items and have them ready for pickup. Let us know ahead of time if you are unable to physically carry them to the pickup location. We can assist if help is needed for moving or packing your items.

I don’t have a lot of books. Does that matter?

No, we are happy to pick up small or large quantities of books. After you fill in the form, we will contact you to determine the size of the pickup so we can plan our route accordingly, or you can give us a call and we can coordinate the details of the pickup over the phone.

Do you only pickup books/media items from private residences?

No, we are happy to pick up from Private Residences, Estate Sales, Businesses, Libraries, Schools, etc.
